I bought Dice Player (no longer available) and then Root Explorer and now they are free with adverts, so even though i have paid for them i am forced to see the adverts, is that really fair.

    Has this happened to you?

Also Google Apps needs a rollback function, for when an update breaks your app, you can restore the previous working version.

Also i want to delete previous tried apps from my history as some are quite embarrassing

Just go to Play Store , my apps, all, then click the X button next to the app to remove it from the history

I use Gemini App Manager (Which is genuinely awesome) to backup some really important apps before upgrading. It saves those apps as APK files. If the update screws something up, reinstall from that APK and away you go. As you say, a rollback function would be great.

To be honest, my favourite way when making big changes is just to do a nandroid backup with Clockwork and restore everything from that backup - takes about 30 mins depending on how much stuff you have. This does however involve rooting and flashing a new recovery... But it's such an awesome thing, so long as you remember to periodically do manual backups.

I have been using Titanium Backup when i can remember to do a backup before i upgrade an app, rollback should be part of Play Store.

I totally agree - it definitely should. Apart from Titanium and Gemini, I'm not sure of any better way. I suppose Google, like MS with Win10 doesn't want people running outdated software - with the consequences you've described being a good example of the problems with this.

I find app publishers tend to be quite receptive to emails, so it might be worth a shot contacting the makers of Root Explorer.

I have contacted and worked though fixes with a couple of app developers after an update caused problems on my devices, I am waiting for a response on an new bug i reported yesterday.

The problem with Android is the sheer number of devices they have to support, Apple has it easy and they still mess up like with the latest OS update.
