I have tried over 50 player`s most likely more in the many years i have had android devices, I think GingerBread was my oldest.

The only players i find to work constantly are.

MX Player and Kodi, I use the SPMC version.

VLC player get`s good marks from other but i cannot get away with it.

I use to like Dice Player i even bought it, and then it was discontinued a few years ago.

Getting players to stop my flash drives and video files, especially on my TV box when i can have 3 flash drives plugged in at one, Some player`s only scan for all files and then list them alphabetically.

I prefer to see the drive, and then click on the one i want and see the directory structure inside.

Also MX Player remembers the last video i played so i can resume it within seconds of starting the app.

I just downloaded QQ Player(Chinese) it no longer on GP, Maybe it`s malware sending all your data to China, I have a free firewall and it block all data to Russia, China, Ect and alerts you to new apps that send data to these locations.

So if you have any recommendations or comments please replay.

    Thanks

    John.

I have used MX Player for years (Bought the Pro Version) , I find the latest disables HW+ on a lot of video`s that play fine and nothing in the settings can disable it, I have spoke to the developer many times, i am on the beta program but no good.

I use an old version with integrated AC3 and DTS as i can enable HW+ in a lot more circumstances.

Also you have to do a patch to get AC3 and DTS sound and it`s a pain for new users.

    It`s still the best player.

I have bsplayer in my tablet, it has a (working) built-in browser for local network so I can play files directly from my server.
It also has ability to lock screen during playback, so accidental touching the screen won't stop video.

speaking of streaming. I have a few shared folders on my laptop which has movies and what not.

Is there a player the can access the network and stream them without having to download the file?

Well. bsplayer does :p That's exactly how I use it.
Technically VLC can do it too but when I manually add my file server, it doesn't see any files or directories shared.

Wow! that worked like a charm man! you've solved a problem I haven't been able to figure out for a year. I even asked on the Android forums and they just gave me very hard ways to access the router via a web browser HTTP address but that required my phone to download the entire file first not stream it. Setting this BSPLAYER was a breeze! Thank you so much! I wish I can rep you thrice for this! [IMG]
