Anyone have an Amazon Kindle with Amazon FreeTime? I thought these tablets sounded like a good idea but it's so locked down, it's ridiculous. I had to use a workaround to install Google Play to install Google Play apps. I want to be able to add some of these apps to Amazon FreeTime for my kids to use with their toys.

Amazon sells Kindle Fire for Kids with FreeTime as a way to help control content your kids use, which is fine, but it seems to restrict it to only Amazon apps, videos, books, etc not other added content. Dumb I tell you. Just because Amazon doesn't offer it doesn't mean I don't think it's not safe. **I** want to control their content, not Amazon.

Has anyone found a workaround to this? Otherwise I'll just have to give them full blown access to an account and not restricted, which is not what I want either.

Funny, I pay for the Freetime "Unlimited" so I don't have to monitor it at all. It is really restrictive, but I don't have to bother finding them apps because the "unlimited" gives them access to hundreds of apps, books, videos, etc that are age appropriate.

That being said, their Kindle Fire HD's are really slow, but I guess I can't expect too much for $69.99.
