Having tried a few mobile cloud storage apps, they all sync the file list only. You can choose to keep some files on the device, but not all of them by default. Is there any service that has an Android app which syncs all files by default, like typical desktop clients do?

I'm fine with both free and paid services and I don't need much capacity. A few G's would be enough.

Does Titanium Media Sync require root access like the normal Backup?

No. You only need to grant access to Dropbox or FTP. It can use root to handle non-SD folders if available.

There's also Folder Sync Lite which is free of charge.
