Looks pretty sweet. Should make side-swipe controls easier as well. But isn't a bezel-less design more prone to damage?

Frame Interactive Technology, Three in One, 2.5D glass edges this early, alloy construction, AKM4961 audio chip, and the IMX234 CMOS from LG's G4... It does look the part and ZTE have highlighted the phone's camera prowess. That is without proof backing their statements, and it's easy to grasp that this isn't going to be the G4's Adreno 430 cousin when there's no protruding camera allowing room for all the optical engineering the G4 enjoys. At CNY 4,499 for the top-end 64GB model and a fairly unknown Nubia UI 3.0 with questionable developer support, I'm not so sure. What's interesting is that there's a good chance Z9 users might be able to opt for Windows 10 later this year.

I have a ZTE V5 Max (branded as Nubia or not depending on which market you're in, shipped with Nubia UI) which I use when long battery life is needed.

The Nubia UI might be desirable for people who are not willing to get root for whatever reason. It has a AppOps-like system which is good if you can't get XPrivacy. Otherwise, it's not interesting and hard on battery life.

What is annoying is the underlying hardware and kernel level stuff on this is device is actually quite efficient. It's just this Nubia UI thingy (or whatever bundled with it) that's killing the battery. When I got this device I was charging every two days with normal usage and maybe 5 hours of screen on time at most. After switching to CM Rom the battery life is dramatically better. The last time I managed to get it close to dying it survived 2 days with 21.5 hours of screen on time while I was taking notes and photos at a conference. Can't say I'm disappointed, especially considering that's with a LCD screen, not LED.

I do like their Nubia camera app, which has clinometer, wavelet denoising and stuff.

Well, it's not very useful when you don't have other phones for comparison.
