I plan to install a desktop environment on my Android phone to use some X.org apps. The primary goal is to run Docear, a reference manager. For battery life concerns, I prefer not to use a desktop app to view PDFs for a long period of time. The Adobe Reader Android app is also much easier to use on a small touch screen.

I wondering if I can get my desktop app to understand Android file open intent so that when I try to open a PDF on the desktop, it switches to the Android mobile reader app. The app would also need proper filesystem permissions to save the annotated file.

BTW, I've heard some desktop on Android app use gyro to control the mouse cursor, which sounds terrible to me. Is there any better method available?
