I like most aspects of my Moto X 2014, but my three gripes are camera quality, lack of onboard storage, and battery life (in the order of biggest gripe to smallest). US Cellular new offers the LG G4 for $100 with a subsidized upgrade, and I have one I can use. It's a huge improvement in terms of camera and storage space (counting a 32gb microSD card I already have, it quadruples storage).

But I wonder if there are some major downsides I'm not considering, where I should just stick with the Moto X. Thoughts?

If you aren't used to the button placement, the G4 could potentially drive you nuts. LG's image isn't too heavily skinned, but is nowhere as clean as the Moto rom. G4 has one of the best cameras on the market, has a microSD slot and a removable battery, something the Moto X doesn't have. I think the 808 SoC isn't super top notch, but if you were okay with the 801 on the Moto X, it should be enough.
