Has anyone upgraded their android phone to the 5.0 update? If you upgraded did it wipe out the stock android email app and force you import all your pop accounts into gmail?

Just wondering because I like my stock Galaxy s4 email app, and I don't want to import all my accounts into gmail. When I upgraded my nexus7 tablet it wiped out the stock nexus email app and had a message that it imported all my accounts into gmail. :|

Yup. Lollipop did away with the stock email app. Depending on who you have your POP accounts with, you can see if they have an app to use, or use Microsoft Outlook for Android.

    Thanks, that's what I figured. :(
I use Outlook for android for one of my exchange accounts, but Outlook doesn't support pop accounts at this time. :(

Couldn't sworn they did when I first downloaded it. In any event, what are the pop domains you need to setup?

just some regular isp domains, nothing special. I may just say 'screw it' and install a CM version of lollipop.

Good luck to you on that. Outlook for Android covers quite a few pop email domains. I was just curious on which one(s) of yours weren't supported by outlook.

Oh, wow. They've trimmed down the support. They also had hotmail support as well as POP3 general support when I downloaded OFA many months ago. I wonder why they did away with the hotmail and POP3 support.

I thought all hotmail accounts are basically outlook.com accounts now?

Kind of. Just like all att.net and sbcglobal.net domain emails are supposed to be all yahoo domain emails now. But the ISPs can't force people to change their email and/or domains.

Now that is strange. My M8 has only the gmail app after updating to 5.0.1. Same thing for 5.0.2.
