I've always trusted NOD32, hasn't failed me yet. Also uses very little resources, unlike Norton.....

I haven't used Kaspersky, but from what I've read, it's a solid choice as well.

Really? Have you used Norton now? or Norton '08?

I don't mean to start the boring war again, but I would on any day chose Norton.. its very good, very light and very efficient too. Norton products have come a long way, and are right up there with the leading security suites.

Ahh yes.. the great Anti Virus wars :D

Everyone will have their preference of course, but I always say the more info the better :)

Norton 08 was the last version I used for a length of time, and it was definitely lighter than the 07 version, but I still found it weighty compared to others. Doesn't mean it's not effective at it's job though :)

I have used Norton '08, and recently upgraded to Norton '09 and its been very light and very efficient. I even had some post' around with screen shots of Norton '09 and its system resource usage.. almost negligible I would say. Let me see if I can find those posts and attachments..

In this post you can find a link to an extensive Security Suites test.
Check the Protectstar PDF link, all the suites you mentioned have been tested.
Download the trial versions of your favourite 2 suites and use them both for a week so you know exactly what you'll be purchasing.
    (I'd advice NIS2009 or KIS2009 btw).
    Cheers.

Just curious, have you had any experience with Norton 360?

If you're looking at a security package (anti-virus, firewall, anti-spyware), go with Kasp. If you just want an anti-virus program, NOD is a good choice.

ComputerMD82: There were a few threads awhile back on Norton 360. Try running a search and see if it pops up anything.

as of this time my only two choices are kaspersky kis2009 or nortons nis2009. the other one id throw in the mix is avira antivir suite its a great program but i personally think the prior two have much better firewall's than avira suite does. im currently beta testing the new avira though and i have to say for sure its a nice setup..

I used NOD32 for a long time, but the last year I've been using BitDefender and will definitely stick with it. Great and watches scumware also.
