I actually just used this the first time the other day. I had somehow gotten something on my desktop (wife probably got it on there) a program was running at start up and soon as I saw this 6 point white star pop up on my task bar the computer would lock up (mouse moved but everything was frozen)

I googled "6 point white star computer freeze" something like that and found a thread on it and they recomended hijack this to see the problem and mallwarebytes to scan/fix it.

I booted safe mode, downloaded and installed malwarebytes and it found it and took it out. Not bad at all, normally free programs have a catch 22 but this one seemms pretty good.

I have used seek&destroy before I think its part of the yahoo toolset, and spybot.

Nothing wrong with Windows Defender - you can also try Microsoft Security Essentials for all your security needs :)

    Both :)
It replaces Windows Defender for Spyware and is also an Antivirus Programme.

Well the security essential did not detect or repair that spyware thing that I had to use malwarebytes to fix.
