    Hi,

when I try to download mbam it downloads but it gives this file extension mbam-setup.1.2DOD17.efw

It gives me the option to save and then,
the option to open with HIPS Email Attachment Helper (default)

    This does not seem right..?

Does anyone know why It dowloads as a .efw file and not a .exe and how can I fix this?

Yes I did go to this site to download. It still downloads as a .efw file. After I posted this I did another search and it is CA Internet Security 2007, the free version that came with roadrunner that blocks these extensions to protect the user.

I am following the fix that the following nrf tech posted. I renamed the file with the .exe extension and it worked that way. I tried to fix the settings in CA but it did not seem to work. I may try it again, but renaming the file with the appropriate extension seems to work.

    Thank you for your help

Yes that's it. I am using CA Internet Security Suite 2007, the free version that comes with roadrunner.

Thank you for your post, As I wrote above renaming the file to the correct extension seems to work. I tried to change the settings in CA and remove the quarantine but that did not work. I might try it again.

But I think the problem is solved, Thank you for help
