What is the best Antivirus e internet security suite free or the money can pay for, but with the performance in mind too...

What is the best when we talk about resource consumption??

I want to found the best M11x-R3 i7 and 8gb PERFORMANCE Notebook I can have...

Right now I have the Kaspersky Pure buyed for my other two pc´s but it is 3 pc´s license but I am worry about the resource it consume so a possible performance degrade, is this true?, how much compared with others? is it secure?

MSE and Windows own built-in firewall.
    Free, and good.

    Stay far away from McAfee....

Very hard to say. I don't agree with MSE though.

I'd have to say Panda Cloud is the least resource intensive antivirus that I've seen while also remaining very effective.

In terms of being the lightest you won't beat Panda... Everything is offloaded to the cloud. It uses something like 8MB of RAM.

I've only had limited experience with it though as I have no need for an AV.

Oh please, stop acting like a know it all " I'm not gonna bother replying "futher"

I'm sorry that not everybody is as "somewhat intelligent" as you.

I would recommend a free alternative for you however such as Avast!

    Kaspersky is also VERY good.

Did you get MSE as the free option from av-c? If so, can you show me the link? I couldn't find it.

I'm using MSE right now and I got to say it's great. I was using NIS 2011 and 2012 Beta and both of those were great also. When 2012 goes gold I'm going to try it out, compare it to MSE performance wise... and then pick one.

+1. No offense Raptor, but you've purchased more security and maintenance software in the last few weeks than I have in my lifetime, and probably been force to reformat more often as well.

Ok I have the kaspersky Pure 2011 in my wife pc and installed the Norton 360 V5 Trial in the M11XR3 Im not sure if it is due to the M11x or it is due to the new version but It looks very well not see any downperformance...

In the past (2009) I buy the norton 360 I think the frist or second version and after 6 month I take it out and try the kaspersky due the performance, but now I dont see any problem so I think the make a good work with this last version or something but it work more light and use less resourse and it looks more light than the Kaspersky pure 2011...

I have use the MSE and it looks good and the Avast is very light and good too
