I don't use avira. AVG free is good.

agree, except for the annoying update ads, it's still the best to me out there. Way better than norton imho.

About a month ago Avira had a deal to try their Premium license for 6 months. I take it by your post, Baserk, that particular deal no longer exists? The one problem I find with Classic (may be wrong here) is that I didn't see that it has and email scanner.

Baserk, oh thanks. you made me unworried.

Some question: Downloaded BlazeVideo HDTV Player from blazevideo.com, but when i try to open it, avira's window pops up stating:" A virus or unwanted program was found! C:\Downloads\BlazeDTVSetup.exe Is the Troyan horse TR/Agent.9298609"
Is it a false alert of not?

Avira has high detection rates because it produces high false positives. I am better off with AVG free.

Although i'd rather get false positives than no virus, Antivir never gives me any false positives.

Got answer from Avira support concerning BlazeVideo HDTV player:

"We could not find a virus in the attachment you have sent us. This is a false positive. We will take out the pattern recognition in one of our next updates."
