This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    my browsers are riddled and keep playing video ads and flashing banners everywhere.

    iv tried cc cleaner and adwcleaner and neither work

    what is the forum recomended kill all?? thanks :)

    oh and where to download it that isnt going to spam my comp even more

    Start with Malwarebytes anti-malware. You'll obviously also want to look at your browser settings to make sure your home page, search engine defaults, etc. are still at what they should be.

    The only true way to be sure though is to nuke and pave.

    Interesting Herd protect uses many malware definitions from different sources. All clean so far.

    Also after you get things cleaned up install an adblock type of extension (e.g. Adblock Plus, Adblock Edge) in your browser to further reduce any annoying flashy ads and some video advertisements.

    Do this use a PC hosts file this will kill those banners and pop ads faster....also make sure to change your PC 'hosts" file to "Read-Only" that will further prevent unauthorized programs from changing that setting. What your seeing adware removal will not remove as it comes from the site itself.

    Also you might need to do this edit as well to prevent DNS slowdowns...
