Luckily it has been fixed immediately... The trouble is, *every* AV has false detections from time to time... including mentioned Avast (which failed several times during past year in VB100 tests also because of false detections: June 2008 - 2 false positives, April 2008 - 19 wildlist misses, 1 false positive, December 2007 - 1 false positive). I'm afraid that there will never be a false-positive-free antivirus in this world...

John, but it was the SpyBot "immunization" issue, right? I mean, this sw has put spyware info into registry... and, surprise, antivirus found them. (it's not detected anymore afaik anyway.)

Nobody else mentioned a problem with there anti-virus , with spybots immunization, only Avg?

Anyway`s it was Advanced Windows Care i was using not spybot.

    They were still false positives.

    Regards

    John.

what i meant to say: these "immunization" registry items had real malware code in them, and therefore they were detected as malware. some ways of storing the malware code are a bit unhappy, in other words. with unhappy results... no matter how we call it in the end (i really don't want to start a flame), it's good to understand how it works and what are roots of similar issues.
