Hopefully it'll be better than OneCare and I'm optimistic that they learned from that experience. I'm surprised we haven't heard a peep about it yet.

Funny name, in Mexican Spanish, Morro is a slang for Homie, Dude in certain regions of Mexico.

I wonder how well does it stack up against all of the other Internet Protection Suites, it will be interesting to see what it is capable of.

Search the forum - it has been very quiet, but it has been reporeted before - it should be somewhere in the depths of the security forum, I may look for it... let's see...

    Found it, here:

Thanks DetlevCM. I had read that thread. What I meant was that nothing has been reported since last November. MSFT's been pretty hush-hush about it.

    That's true.

Maybe they don't want their software bashed about by fanboys.

Especially, as it will be free - that'll be a huge plus.

I am looking forward to testing this new free anti-virus solution; however I am not loving the name.

It is going to be interesting to see how it stacks up against the current big three in the free anti-virus market (Avast, AVG and Avira).

I'm pretty sure it won't be called that, Morro is just a code name.

It's under the Security and Anti-Virus software section, so why does the title need to be corrected?

Microsoft's free antivirus solution code named "Morro" is to be renamed

    Microsoft Security Essentials

Thank goodness I couldn't stand that Morro name!

Code name will not be the release name of the product. Vista was code named "Longhorn".

Paul seems to like it a lot. Can't wait to try it out myself on a 7 RC install.
