Every time I turn off my Sony FS750 (3-years old) and FZ4000 (brand new) computers, I'm forced to manually turn windows firewall back on when I start the computer again.

What would cause two different computers firewalls to turn off the same way every time? A hacker?

Try leaving them off and see if turn on! :p

But seriously, I don't know, but why don't you try Comodo or something else?

I have tried leaving the firewall off, but it stays off. I'm also using ZoneAlarm too.

    Thanks for your feedback.

Yeah, I would just leave it off if I were you, but that is strange. I'll think some more on it. :p

I think Zone Alarm auto-disable it, as I never touched mine, and when I checked it was off, ZA was on.

Ah, that makes sense. Two firewalls are not recommended, and that's one reason why.

Zone Alarm is enough. Just leave the Windows firewall off. You may even notice increased websurfing speed with it off. Many people have reported that this effect.

I haven't tried it with ZA but i have noticed an increased speed with Comodo Pro Firewall when the Windows firewall is off.

Windows Security Center should show something like this when ZoneAlarm is installed (this is on Vista):
