Out of all the options you've mentioned, I'd personally suggest either Nod32 or Norton AV 2009 Gaming Edition.
I think the AV with best security and the lightest footprint on your PC memory is ESET Nod32. It only takes up ~34MB of your computer whereas Norton takes up more. Also, Eset Nod32's performance has been the best as of this year as it has never missed In-The-Wild viruses. You can checkout some benchmark scores of Eset against it's competition here. You can see that Symantec is the second best, not trailing too far behind in terms of security.
However, I currently use Norton Internet Security 2009 and if you've tried the 2008 version; the 2009 version is a significant improvement over its predecessors in terms of CPU usage, interface, and scanning abilities.
Why not consider NIS 2009 over the AV Gaming Edition? It's only $20 more expensive but you get Identity and Networking Protection... The only advantage of the Gaming Edition is the stealth feature "Gamer Mode" avoiding interruption during gaming. But as an NIS 2009 user, I've never been "interrupted" while gaming. Just something to note... -
I personally like Avira because it has a high detection rate, it uses minimal resources (47MB) and it's free...woot !
Avast is also a solid AV and it's also free. -
I use AVG and the new 8.5 version is great in my oppinion.
I have also heard a lot of Norton Gamer Edition, and I think it's great! My cousin uses it, and he thinks it's defeantly worth the money. -
Paid: NOD32
Free: Avira -
usapatriot Notebook Nobel Laureate
Paid: Can't say
Free: Avira, sadly however, certain features do not work on x64 versions of Windows. -
NAV09, hands down. But I would suggest getting a NIS09 triple-license, which can be found for $0.00 at Fry's Electronics after rebates.

Avira, definitely.

Free: Avira or Avast
Kaspersky 2010 is actually the best security suite out there today IMO. But there are soo many options that you can tinker with, it might actually be a bane for some. But if you love a suite with lots of flexibilty, Kaspersky IS 2010 is the the way to go. -
NOD32 is the lightest and most secure antivirus if you want paid
the runner up immediately is Avira AntiVirs (Free)
then comes Norton 2009 -
I've been runnign very well with Kaspersky.
Version 2010 has a gaming mode - however, for some 2010 also seems to have a memory leak -
avast or avira.. choice got to be one of them.. ve been avast for ages..never have complain..so ofcourse never tested nyone else..but heard avira is as good ..n they both have free version..
Which of these AVs would you reccomend?
