List what does your security setup comprise of.

    Here's mine:

    Antivirus: Malwarebytes (Lifetime Premium License)
    Firewall: Windows Firewall
    VPN: ExpressVPN
    Password Manager: LastPass
Ad Blocker: AdBlock Plus with the following filters:

    Additional:

Sandboxie (for running unsafe apps or ones that I'm not 100% sure of)
SUPERAntiSpyware (Lifetime Premium License) [I don't use this for any malware detections as it sucks in that department but what it's good at is cleaning those nasty tracking cookies that accumulate overtime in your web browser's cache]

    ==============================================================

Note: I've tested every AntiVirus out there (literally), the only usable one to me was ESET NOD32/Internet Security. The others while they may look awesome in all those Anti Virus tests, they either slowed down my system noticeably or came in the way of my workflow like some apps wouldn't install or run properly and to me that's a big NO NO.

The reason why I am using Malwarebytes now instead of ESET NOD32 is it's a bit lighter particularly on the internet as its HTTP scanner is not as aggressive or heavy as ESET's HTTP Scanner

It wouldn't be that secure if I told anyone, now would it? Kidding.

    ESET Smart Security for anti-malware/firewall.
The only other thing I do is use a modified HOSTS file to block ads and unwanted connections: http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.htm

Router-behind-router ---> ISP router box is not great (SKY Q...Bleh), so that is in wired only mode, connected to a Linksys wrt 32X with openWRT/LEDE custom firmware , various tweaks.

    AV/Firewall -
BitDefender 2019 Totalpaininbutt edition. TotalSecurity... urgh. I have 43 days until renewal.... it seems to be a bit sulky and thinks firefox is ransomeware  :p may not renew, not sure yet. (2018 was fine...)

    Malwarebytes Premium 3
    - backup when BD makes me think I am getting eaten alive by nasties, I'm not.

Use modified hosts file too - got it from one of the tweak threads in the other forum...

    IPVanish
VPN - can be installed on router, need to do this again shortly as have just updated firmware .

    AdBlock Plus -
I have just copied above settings. ;) although have used it for years.

A post from Wilders Security Forum:

I tried the AV only and good lord it was so bloated, software updater, password manager, browser extension, system optimizer, every bloatware under the run. I can't even imagine using their Total Security.

I also had an issue where upon a fresh installation, it would do an initial update then prompt me to reboot, then after the reboot, if I check for updates, it always come back with an unexpected error. If I click the button which says show details, it just takes me to notifications which show nothing about this update error just my previous scans.

Bitdefender hasn't changed since 7 years, it has one of the greatest scanning engines and fastest coupled with the buggiest user interface and now they though let's just throw in more bloat maybe we'll get more sales from people who don't know any better.

That's why I will probably jump ship to something else when my sub expires. I find it hard to articulate my frustrations with it, whilst keeping within acceptable language use for posting on this forum. :D :p

    Antivirus: None **
    Firewall: Windows Firewall
Firewall: pfSense firewall on Supermicro 1u C2758 8-core Atom
VPN: ssh tunnel to various hosts
    Password Manager: custom multi-platform
    Ad Blocker: uBlock Origin Firefox

    Additional:

**AskLeo: Step 4. Educate yourself (To be blunt, all of the protection in the world won’t save you from yourself.)
Malwarebytes (Lifetime Premium License) [I don’t run it full-time, nor on my main system.]
Hyper-V Windows 8.1 Pro or sacrificial “air gap” laptop (for running unsafe apps or ones that I’m not 100% sure of)
**VirusTotal (I don’t run a full-time AV but instead upload suspicious files to them (multi-platform) and they scan the file or URL using over a dozen engines from popular suites all at once. So I have more confidence whether a certain email attachment, file download, or URL link is safe or not). And without the system overhead or licensing issues.
