I have AVG and fortunately it stopped Neosploit from hacking my computer.

It has a web shield, a resident shield and a firewall. I have tried to read what the differences are but probably b/c I am too tired form overwork -- I can't seem to get clarity. Can anyone explain it to me?

I also want to purchase a second AV software that will be on at all times.

The two I am considering is SuperAntivirus and MalwareBytes Anti-Malware. I can't tell if their purchased version has real time protection and in the 3 categories above.

(Also they are both supposed to have a trial version but I can't find that on either of their sites.)

I have tried using Spybot Search & Destroy as my real time antivirus and internet security software but it is too annoying.

Any one have any answers or suggestions.

You really shouldn't be using two AV programs. They will probably conflict and lead to bad performance.

Web shield I'm assuming filters through web content. Resident shield sounds like the real-time protection against malware. The firewall is pretty standard, designed to protect your computer on a network.

Evaders99 is correct, never ever run two antiviruses at once. It could cause everything including system instability and crashes, and none of both antiviruses would work correctly (they would block each other while detecting and removing malware).

Web shield is checking traffic on port 80 and some others, it protects you against threats from web, such as exploits, before they get into your computer.

Resident shield is a real-time protection, controlling any possible malware actions in your computer.

Firewall basically protects you against hackers, it controls the traffic between your computer and outside world, both directions.
