Well I was using google image search when I clicked on a a image and it brought me too a website almost immediately afterwords a popup that said 2009 avira antivirus or some popped up on my screen two other boxes popped up on my screen also(not popups but it looked like normal alert boxes) They said some things that my computer was infected and I clicked OK and OK and it said download something. Luckily I didnt download it becuase 3 regular avira boxes that I have installed popped up and said they detcted some files which i deleted immediatly. Its hard to explain sry.

Now I want to make sure my computer has no virus/spyware/anything wrong with it.

Im running an avira virus scan now. I have the free version. Will this 99% guarantee that I have nothing bad on my comp? Or will have to download some other scanners to make sure?

NOTE: sry i didnt see the virus subforum. can mod pls move?

Never fall for those. You should be fine if it didn't download anything. But just in case full scan with Avira and use an on-demand scanner like SuperAntiSpyware. Or you can system restore to a point before you got those popups, lol.

Yeah I know, but you said you want to make sure your system is good like it was before you clicked the "alert boxes". By doing a system restore, it would be like you never even did it.

Yeah I know, but you said you want to make sure your system is good like it was before you clicked the "alert boxes". By doing a system restore, it would be like you never even went to google images to cause the popups/alert boxes

    Yeah.. http://www.superantispyware.com/

If needed (considering how paranoid you are) you can also give in a scan of MBAM.

Finally, remember - never ever click on any website that says your computer is infected. Its your own Anti-virus software / suite who is going to tell you. Keep SAS or MBAM with you, and I recommend a weekly scan / clean up.

Like already mentioned, SAS and MBAM are the top-notch programs to use if you suspect (an) infection(s).
Another one you might want to give a try is Dr. Web CureIt!.
It's a small program that you download to do a one-time scanning&cleaning routine. (The program will not update itself, so you have to download the newest version everytime you want to use it).

Important is that you get to know the pop-ups for the different programs you use.
If necessary, check the security program websites to see how they look.
Only click on those; never on the AntiVirus 200*/Win Defender/Anti whatever name, it's better to use task control and kill your browser than clicking on those popups because even clicking on OK/Cancel, Accept/Decline or Yes/No buttons or even the red X to close the popup can start a malicious download.

So, run SAS, MBAM, CureIt! and then get to know what popups they produce.
Then head over to this article, read it and you'll understand how those malicious programs work and you can warn/inform family or friends on how to avoid them.
    Cheers and happy new year.
