I have 2 programs, both have real time scanners, Avast and Ad Aware. One is an Anti-Virus and the other is Anti-Malware. Is it good to have both of their real time scanners running at the same time??

Been doing it for almost 6 months with MSE and MBAM. No issues.

I'll second what Eugene said. Ad Aware does indeed have an AV scan included in the free version now, so running it will conflict with any other AV software. As for its reliability, I've found that Ad Aware simply isn't as strong as it used to be. It hasn't been a main choice of mine for years; MBAM stole that seat from it. Nothing but anecdotal evidence, but I'd prefer a MSSE MBAM combo.
