    Hey guys,

my 4gb pen-drive.. i plugged it in some idiots laptop for data exchange and all i see was "nothing/blank" when i clicked open the pen-drive in his old xp running system. well, i later on used a mac to delete all the "creepy" files/folders (read newfolder.exe , milimeter.exe) etc.

now when i am using it on my system, i have it run through avast. it scans all that 3gb data on it, finds nothing. but when i open the drive, again it shows nothing. :|

any idea what may have gone wrong?
would be thankful for the help.

    have a great day.
    thanks.

If you have emptied the trash can when the USB stick is plugged in, does Avast still scan 3GB?

YuP ..!! it does..i scanned the drive on various systems (all with avast only) they all scan 3gb data.

scanning shows no threat found, scans the data like normal..only does not show any data :)

very interesting......it might be that whatever virus or malware hid the files Try this.....it wont hurt to try

    1. click start>>run>>type in "cmd"
    2. type the location of your flash drive.. e.g. "d:", "e:", "f:", etc..
    3. type "dir /ah"
*you will now see the files/folders with hidden attributes
    4. type "attrib [name of file/folder] -r -a -s -h"
*if you're going to unhide files, you should type the whole name plus the extension (format).. example "attrib party.jpg -r -a -s -h"
**if you have folders with 6 characters and above, type the first 6 characters then "~1".. example for folder named "birthday"
    "attrib birthd~1 -r -a -s -h"
    5. you should repeatedly type dir /ah after unhiding some files/folders so you'll know if they're now working or not..
    6. now check you flash drive.. it should be there..
