This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Tried free spyware doctor from google?

    recommended by Gizmo. Works well for me very little hogging. The new AVG froze.

    The first is a special cut-down version of Spyware Doctor that's available as part of Google Pack [1], a bundle of free software offered by Google. Called "Spyware Doctor Starter Edition the cut down version lacks the full array of real time protection monitors possessed by its commercial big brother but still offers some active protection along with full scan and remove capabilities, scheduled scans, and free signature file updates.

    I had used this before. It consumes lot of resources and doesn't remove all the threats detected. Meanwhile it detects every cookie as spyware/adware.
    Windows defender should just be fine for real time spyware protection.

    I agree with cool guy, I've used it too, though its not that great but it will do just fine.
