Did any one notice that , i receive alot of usb drives from friends that contain the auto run virus , kaspersky 2009 used to just delete them in under 10 sec, the new kaspersky program 2010 takes time to scan all the computer ( i think ) before removing the auto run virus , any work around ?

What about scanning the whole computer once?
Have you done this once? May be the cause.

On 7 and 2009 that sped up a lot of things including updates - not sure about virus removal.

Turn off autorun for external drives. Then you don't have to care if they have an autorun virus or not.

See this thread for more info: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=430049

EDIT: I suppose you still want to scan the other files before using them though... so I guess it's probably still an issue.

@DetlevCM no i didn't scan the computer , ill try that
@swarmer i kinda like the autorun for my clean drives like my external hard and usb flash , mp3 player etc :D , so if i didn't find a solution for this problem ill use the older version of kaspersky

You like it - but do you need it?
I can't think of anything that should auto run on an external drive - well, except maybe sometimes he CD drive if you instal lot's of things.

Just disable auto-running of programs that are actually on the drive. You can still have it run your music manager when you plug in an mp3 player, or have it open a window when you plug in a drive. Just turn off the auto-running of executables from the newly-plugged-in drive.

In Vista it's under Control Panel > Hardware & Sound > AutoPlay.
