    Hi

Avira flashed some kind of report. Then everything happened very quickly.

    1. All search engines were opening normally. Then whatever was typed in the search bar came up with zero results. Like a blank page. Tried GOOGLE, YAHOO etc.
    2. My YAHOO email account refused me access. Than YAHOO automatically changed to the older "Mail Classic" and allowed me access to read my mail.
    3. By this time, I know there is a huge problem somewhere. So, I click on Malwarebytes to open and do a scan. Program refuses to open. No response.
    4.Tried re-installing Malwarebytes. Won't install.
5.And AVIRA (Free) is quite all this time not reporting anything wrong.
6.Try and visit M$ website(to check) from "My Favourites". Website will not load properly.
7.Try and visit Notebook Review from "My Favourites". Website loads and all is normal.
    8. Try and visit the bank I do transactions with from "My Favourites". Website loads and all is normal.

By this time, I am extremley nervous. So I did a complete OS re-install.

And all is well again. Glad to report.

I have no idea what happened......and how this virus?? whatever managed to successfuly elude, bypass and generally take control of my lappie.

In spite of having latest virus definitions and all M$ patches up to date.

    Yah well.

I might fall into the same trap again because I really have no idea what happenened in the first place

    Cheers,
    Theo
