This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    If you care for some info from a security layman, the Storm botnet has shrinked considerably, in size and capability, according to several researchers (see the links at he bottom of the Wiki page). Mostly due to AV vendors coming up with detection and removal solutions.

    And sure, with 100000+ computers at your disposal (with a high bandwith internet connection), one can DDOS lots of little countries for a short period of time.
    Who owns it? Who knows...
    I wouldn't be surprised if RBN is involved though.

    The botnet's ability to respond to scans creeps me out. Skynet reimagined lol.
