    Hi folks,

WARNING ... Do NOT Trust Spyware Doctor Freeware by PCTools!

Since I was having problem with my laptop today since I visited a not Known site and my Avira blocked few attempts by that site to gain access ... and since after visiting that site I got funny stuff happen with my laptop ... like when I wanted to download a file ... the file would just not save and Vanish on me ... I panicked and I started searching for answers and in one of the Well-Respected Antivirus websites had an ad for "Spyware Doctor 6 by PCTools" to scan my laptop ... since I had already tried MBAM in Full Scan mode and had found nothing ... and I had ran 2 Antirootkits and nothing again ...

So, I downloaded the "Spyware Doctor 6" by PCTools ... another respected anti-virus company and the following crap happened to me ...

    1) The program never installed correctly and hung.

    2) Then program continually wanted to call back home. I suppose that qualifies for an Adware or Spyware!

    3) It would not let me close the program.

    4) It crashed and killed my WinPatrol program and process. Now why an Antispyware program do it ... if it wanted to protect my laptop/pc.

    5) Spyware Doctor it even would not allow me to start my "Task Manager" ... go figure.

So, I hard booted my laptop and then went into Safe Mode and uninstalled this piece of a crap program.

I am writing to you folks to WARN you not to use this program if you want to protect your PC.

    Thanks,

    G! :)

if you get an add for rogue software on a respected site either that site is infected of your computer is - I suggest you have a look around NBR - use the free tools available - and you may want to use the malicious software removal tool from Microsoft too.

Now, now, now, let's not get too excited.
PCTools' SpywareDoctor is certainly no rogue application.
Whether it's a top notch program is another question.

    Hi folks,

THANKS to all of you for your post and reply.

I am not sure what the heck I had or still have because after I ran MBAM Full Scan and Avira full scan and also CCleaner in limited mode ... just deleted the Temp folders and what not and nothing else so my laptop would not be unstable. I also plan to do SAS.

@ DetlevCM ... thanks for reminding me of Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool ... I'll do that.

@ TeeJay ... The Grammar Nazi :D ... dude, English might be second or third language for " DarkSilver" ... so he/she is doing Pretty Darn good. The reason I say that it's because I go to Forums that their Language is NOT english and I use Translator to translate from English to that language ... and boy these translators that you buy at electronics store are a Murder on translating ... they don't do a good job .... so I am sure those guys get Totally frustrated with my darn posts.

    @ Baserk ... Thanks Buddy!

@ DarkSilver ... Really appreciate You taking the time to post and giving me ideas how to fix my problem. Keep Up the GREAT Work. THANKS again!

    G! :)

I appreciate your reply as well. Because you tell the other the reason I couldn't speak proper English.
I am trying to improve my English level.

    Is my solution work? LOL.
If you are afraid of system unstable, better don't try it.
SUPERantispyware would not screw up your system. You can try it safely.
