Hi, I use SpyBot to scan for stuff every once in awhile, and that works fine, but it also notifies me of "important" registry changes:
    reg.jpg
    (just an example)

Most of the time it's something obvious like when I'm installing something new or whatever, but sometimes I really have no clue what to do with it.

Should I be careful about what registry changes I allow or block, and if so how do I figure out what is good and what's not? Can I turn off this notification feature (is it even useful?)
    I'm afraid I might deny something that I shouldn't...

    Thanks.

Ok well... the uniblue file in my screenshot was just a random example. That file doesn't exist now, I unistalled it a long time ago. Didn't even use it.

The registry change notices come up with stuff I'm pretty sure isn't infected. Like the other day I downloaded and installed Yahoo messenger from yahoo.com and it popped up a couple notices because yahoo messenger was wanting to run at startup.

Am I looking at this the right way here?

The registry change is part of SDHelper, which is ANNOYING AS HELL. It will notify you of every single registry change made... period. You really want almost all of them. Just be smart with your browsing habits, TeaTimer and SDHelper are for... well... uneducated PC users who do not understand what is going on. I never install either, they just lead to more hassle than anything it would prevent. I know you can turn them off in the Spybot SD options, but I honestly couldn't tell you where - as I don't ever install them to begin with!

Ah. So heck, I could just uninstall Spybot SD, reinstall it and choose not to install those features?

I guess I didn't really pay attention to that stuff when I first installed it.

Actually I think it's Teatimer that notifies you of registry changes and is easily disabled via the menu- mode, advanced, tools, resident and uncheck Teatimer.

Yeah I just reinstalled it and didn't choose SDhelper or teatimer. Been living happily without it for 3 days now.
