I ran a full scan with Spy Sweeper and shut down after the scan. The next day, when I booted up,Spy Sweeper didn't load.Clicked the Spy Sweeper icon and got nothing. So I went to the menu and tried to launch from there, nothing.I thought I'd uninstall it and reinstall it.When I tried an uninstall I got a message;"Please wait while Webroot installs or updates the software. This may take several minutes."I clicked ok.Waited about 10 minutes and tried again.Same message.I have been at it all day.I even tried going into program files and deleting it there but I get the same message.I tried reinstalling Spy Sweeper without uninstalling and I get the same message. How can I get rid of Spy Sweeper?

How about going back to a restore point?

That may be the only way to get it back to normal since it's acting so strange...

Tried to do a restore and I only had one restore point from 3 days ago.Spy Sweeper is still unresponsive and I still get the same message when I try to uninstall it.I contacted Webroot when all this started, but have yet to hear anything from them. Also the restore took less than three minutes which is unusual. The last one I did took nearly 15 minutes.

Sounds like maybe a virus got into your system? You might want to try downloading another scanner, or a trial version of paid AV, and see what can be found...

Re ran both of the AV's I mentioned above plus Avast.I still get no Virus or anything.I don't do a lot of surfing any more.I usually visit a few sites that I know and I'm not a hound.I still have no luck with the issue.

Have you tried re-installing Spy Sweeper and then uninstalling it from Add/Remove programs?

Thank you all for the help.

That was one of the first things I did.I finally had to reset my OS back to it's original state.I was having some other strange issues that I didn't pay attention to.I think it may have been a virus plus Spy Sweeper. My screen brightness said 100% but it was really dim.I tried to adjust it and nothing happened. After the restore to original state, the screen brightness came back.I dunno what the issue was but my system is back up and running correctly.
