I had the Avira Premium Security Suite since March and had no problems. Yesterday I received a popup from Avira which said there was a update and I downloaded the update. This update removed my previous license installed setup and rebooted. When I signed in the system would not open so I restored to a previous point.

After restoring my security went crazy and I lost the firewall plus the virus protection of Avira. I checked the control panel to see if Avira was there and it was but not functioning. I attempted to remove and then reload it several times but the system will not do it.

How can I remove the Avira from the program list because I am lost.

    Thanks

Is avira dead silent or are only the firewall and AV not working e.g. are there still other avira processes running?
Do you still have the icon in the taskbar and/or can you open the security suite configuration screen?
If applicable, stop any remaining avira processes running and then follow the manual removal instructions from this Avira forum page.

The Avira is not running. Upon starting the programs attempt to run but this
    message appears:

Unable to find c/program files (86) Avira/Avira Premium Security Suite/ccplg.xml

I can open the security screen and it says Avira turned off. When i try to turn it
on the same message as above appears.

I tried that Avira in Safe Mode but it did not work
