I personally use Malwarebytes on my own computers, but I need something that can run off USB when I'm wotking on other peoples' computers.

    Requirements are:
-definitions are easily updatable(some custom made portable version of some programs have issues with updating their database)

    any recommendations?

Spybot S&D will run off a USB. GMER. TDSS Killer. Hitman Pro. SuperAntiSpyware.

edit: FYI this belongs in the security sub-forum.

SuperAntiSpyware. The portable version downloads with a random file name and the .com extension so it isn't blocked when you attempt to run it on an infected machine.

You could use Microsoft safety scanner
Microsoft Safety Scanner - Free online tool for PC health and safety
Microsoft has another tool too http://connect.microsoft.com/systemsweeper
system sweeper is alot more intense though

For MBAM, you can always download the offline manual database.
It won't be as recent as what's online available of course but still very usefull; link.
Also, check the Gizmo/TechSupportAlert free security software list.
At 2.3, it lists portable scanners (Emsisoft is a good one); link
