    Hi all :)

Maybe I am over reacting or midterms and studying have finally gotten to me

I am using W7-64 bit and have Avast running as an AV. I do not know what my hard drive is doing. It blinks almost at an even interval and I get a split second of a blue orb in place of my cursor. From my experience it seems some program is either executing. I am thinking it might be an auto-update. I have disabled hard drive indexing so I can eliminate that as a possible cause. Highly undesirable scenario. School work is demanding and a re-installation of Windows is just starting to turn me off. I've run my antivirus with high-heuristic detection settings and did a boot scan as well. Everything seems to be fine. I looked around the Avast GUI and there is something called 'cloud services' which I was not aware of until now. There is an option to untick it which I might do to see if affects this behavior in any way.

So in the meantime I wonder if anyone might suggest a good root kit remover for me. lol sorry if I sound paranoid but I would like to see if a root kit remover might find something amiss.

    Thanks!!!

Maybe you can check with "What's my computer doing?" ?
What's my computer doing? - Strange hard disk access? Unexplainable processor activity?
You can check your computer for infections with Comodo Cleaning Essentials and Kaspersky TDSSKiller.
