I recently installed XP on my M1530. I wanted to try out some freebie AV, firewall, and spyware apps to see if they could be adequate replacements to the Norton apps I've been using for the last several years. So, I installed the most recent versions of Avira's free AV, Comodo's free firewall, and the free Spyware Doctor (supposedly some of the best apps in their respective categories). Every now and then, when I am connected to the internet, I hear a random beep (the kind you usually hear when you get an error popup window). I have no idea why it is occurring as no dialog box accompanies the beep.

Has anybody else who used these apps experienced these beeps?

    What is it for?

    Can it be disabled?
