and FAST FAST FAST WOW. dare i say lighter than anything ive ever used. you literally cant even tell its running even on a older celeron m 140 with 1gb of ram.

the firewall is a bit basic but serves the needs of most especially with a few custom rules. the av is performing very well in my testing so far almost right on par with nis2010 though each missed a few the other caught. its a very light and simple to use setup. im even thinking abouyt switching from nis2010 to the avast suite on my own systems. just wanted to update since i spoke about it a few days back in early testing of mine. overall very nice av though

What kind of tweaking did you do (besides custom rules for firewall)?
Do you think it's better then MSE?

TS was talking about Avast! Internet Security 5.
    OK.
If MSSE compared with Avast! 5 Home Edition, Avast! wins.
It's detection rate is on par with MSSE(I think it still slightly lower than Avira) but it's resources usage is very low(lowest I think :D ) and features are more than those MSSE provides.

I am with Avast! 5 Home Edition now. It's UI is better than MSSE. LOL.
I always like to switch around those FREE AVs. Which have the better performance and lower resources and beautiful GUI, I will choose that. If AVG improves until like Avast! 5, I won't mind switching it.
I always advise people(if they want free) to use either Avira or Avast or MSSE. I said either 1 of these will do for you(generally, you should be save with either 1). They're free and very good and don't go for AVG. It sucks. >.<
