I've had to call them about 5 times now because of the same conficker.a worm.

This last time they 'detected' it randomly at 6am. They check the same time every week.
Every time I've removed the worm its been exactly the same with malwarebytes, detected, restart, removed.

but now I have a clean install of windows 7, 5 days old. I have AVG as well as malwarebytes and I'm installing MSE. None of this software has detected anything at all.

    What is the deal here?

Maybe the clean install removed the the virus you had.

No, it didnt. According to them. But not according to the same program I've used to remove the same virus multiple times.
    Thats my issue here.

It's possible you are dealing with a false positive.
MSE has a high detection rate, and if MSE and MBAM do not detect anything, then you are quite possibly clean.

Avoid using AVG for now since it's detection rates are not really that good and it has a tendency to use way too many resources.

Also, only use 1 antivirus with active protection in the background, because if you use more than 1, conflicts could arise.

Could the virus be in Windows Systemrestore or a flash drive or card or an externaldrive you use reguarly?
It is strange that the virus keeps coming back.

You might want to do the following.
    Update both MSE and MBAM.
Restart computer in Safe Mode and run full scans from there.
If you find anything, purge it.
    :)

That's what I usually do in case of a viral infection.
