I am using Norton Internet Security 2009 on Vista Business x32 SP2. I have 2 users set up, a Standard user and an Administrative user. I am logged in as the Standard user and when I go to change settings I get a dialog that says that only the administrative user can do this. I find this strange and this is the first time I have seen this happen in Vista. Usually when something needs administrative rights UAC pops up and asks for the administrative password. NIS 2009, flat out rejects me. I tried right clicking the Norton shortcut and chose run as admin user, but that didn't work either. Then I logged out and logged in with my Admin user account and sure enough I was allowed to change the settings. Can anyone tell me what I can do to allow the Standard user to change these setting by supplying UAC the admin password(like what most programs on Vista do)? Logging in as a different user is a real hassle. Thanks.

With NIS2009, changing settings and/or doing a full scan can only be done with an admin account.
With a LUA, settings can't be changed and you can only scan those files which you can access under the LUA.
Please check the Norton forum for more detailed information.
    Cheers.

Thanks for the reply Baserk. So that sucks, no way for the regular user to change settings and do a full system scan. Why is this way for this program but not like this for others? Also what does LUA stand for? Thanks.

I think Baserk meant Limited User Account.

Thanks, I wasn't familiar with the term. Also, is this common for programs to behave this way or is this specific to NIS2009.
