    I actually have two questions.

    1. When setting real time scan options does having it scan 'all files' or/and 'compressed files' increase HDD usage as well? (I know it increases CPU usage)

    2. Ever since I reformatted this computer last every time I attempt to do a full system scan is just crawls through the files at about 30 per second. It also runs into the issue of hanging on particular files for 30+ min each. I can't figure out why it hangs on those particular files considering they are extremely small. My only guess would be that those files no longer exist but were never removed from the registry or they are corrupted in some form. Waiting 14 hours for it only to get to 73,000 files is just not right.

Got any ideas why it does this or of an easy way to fix it? (Excluding going to another Anti-Virus program or reformatting)

    1) Yes because you will be scanning more files
    2) Unfortunately, because security software tend to be heavy systems, they are probably more like to conflict with software on your computer. Do you have any other security software running that could be causing a conflict? What kind of files does it hang on?

The times I have come back and seen it hang they have been System 32 files.

I have no other security software and I have never had this issue till I did this last reformat. I have even reinstalled F-Secure and it has made no difference.

I'm starting think this was just a bad install of windows or some program is messing everything up. It has also been taking the computer upwards of 5+ minutes to turn off. I have checked all the programs to make sure they are turning off correctly and non of them appear to be hanging in shutdown.

I have grown confused, I have never had a computer do this out of the 100's of them.
