PrevX Ltd from Derby UK, have released their new program PrevX Edge.
It's an antimalware program that's aimed to replace antivirus and antispyware programs.
The program uses by enlarge heuristics instead of traditional signatures; malware is found by it's behaviour or more precisely, it's expected behaviour.
This means it will also block zero-day malware, malware that hasn't been analyzed by security program vendors yet and for which they haven't written a signature.

The time-unlimited trial version detects rootkits, trojans etc but unfortunately it does NOT remove any infections (maybe this will be added to the trial version later on).
Because the trial version has no removal option, I won't put it in my list of security apps.
However, this new product is already much hailed on fora like Wilders Security where this company has quite some fans.
It's light on resources, doesn't conflict with other security apps, the trial version can be used as an on-demand scanner and might just detect some nasties your current setup has missed.
For those interested, PrevX Edge and other PrevX products can be found here.
    Cheers.

Edit; the current version is 32-bit only, a 64-bit version will be avilable soon.

I've always been interested in this program, but the lack of removal annoyed me. Just to make sure, this program will not conflict with other active protection programs right? I'm specifically concerned about Avira's active protection and Comodo firewall.

Edit: What the heck? I have 1629 posts? Gez...

According to PrevX employees and users on Wilders Security it works just fine with Avira; link.
I haven't read anything about Comodo, either good or bad reports but I suppose any conflicts with CFP would already have been posted there.
Also, the PrevX folks posting there have said that most well-known security apps have been tested with their newest product but there might be a potential conflict with one of the gazillion possible combinations of different security apps of course.
