This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    PC-Cillin removal

    I never installed this so no idea where it came from. Not showing up in any folders or the add/remove program. Trying to install Panda security which says unable to install until PC-cillin removed.

    Perhaps PC-Cillin has been removed but it's still listed as active in Windows Security Center?
    If so, follow these steps to remove the obsolete entries (as described in this and this thread);

    1 Stop the "Windows Management Instrumentation" service. (type ' services' in Search and click Enter to go to services).
    2 Locate the folder "repository" in c:\windows\system32\wbem. Delete only the repository folder.
    3 Now start the "WMI" service back on.
    4 Wait for at least 15 mins for the system to rebuild the information.
    5 Now reboot and open the security center. If it's not turned ON, turn ON and you will have the right info there.
