Reading the sticky, along with this thread, both of which were on the first page. Might solve your problem. I also suggest you use search before posting anything in the future. If it's not already on the first page.

Depends if you want performance or an all-in-one solution.
Norton and McAfee bog down your system but is more integrated.

    Yup..You should read the sticky.
For my preference if you ask me; paid AV is NOD32 (quite cheap) and for free AV is Avira. So far both of them are excellent and I am satisfied. No resources hog and have fast scanning rate.
I use NOD on my own notebook and avira on the university's computer.

lol. I think he was trying to make a point. It wasn't really convincing though. Just like Norton and McAfee I think Bitdefender is a resource hog.

Yes, but at least Norton tells you there is a virus but doesn't decide to delete it. I've heard Bitdefender was horrible at detecting and crashed many computers. And then on the matter of his spamming, he's been making quite a lot of useless posts.

No offense to anyone, but I have bought Bitdefender in 2007 while they had a sale at my university, that's very cheap only $7.5 (one year license) and only to be sold in Indonesia. My thoughts, it was resource hogs and even cant detect any local made viruses made by Visual Basic script. I dont know what's up, but they were very disappointed. I wont buy any bitdefender products again.
that's my personal thought...your mileage must be vary.... :)
