In Feb '10 I downloaded a 12 month subscription of NIS 2010. When Jan of '11 came I was able to upgrade over the internet my NIS 2010 to NIS 2011, HOWEVER, the original 12 month subscription ends tonight at Midnight.

I purchased a retail copy of NIS 2011 earlier. I know about the product key, but would I have to uninstall all of the norton files that are due to expire I have on my laptop before I can load the new NIS 2011?

    Thank you :)

I wouldn't have bought norton, but since you already have, you can just upgrade/install over the old one. You do realize that the software itself never really expires, the 'subscription' is for definition updates.

No, you do not. Norton Antivirus products only need a key, in fact you have license to update to the latest version of your Norton Antivirus software for as long as your license is valid.

I also wouldn't of used Norton (AVG is great), however you can simply "add license" to most of these security products without installing :)

Stick with the latest Norton NIS ,used it for years, it scans downloads, web pages, emails ect,,I have seen it block malware before it installs and uses a community user approach for files to be "trusted" its a smart program...

    Cheers
