Anyone knows them both and there differences? Not only the features but also about the ressources and speed it needs?

They both cost the same and i´m thinking about getting rid of KIS and get Norton (it seems to need less ressources). I think Norton has also the same proactive security? A simple AV wont do it anymore.

    Thanks :)

i used to use IS first and then 360 a while ago but they were really power hungry but i believe the latest versions of both have a smaller footprint so are better than they used to be.
used avg and now avast pro and happy with that now so hopefully someone thats using the 2010 version will be able to help better.

I've never used 360 before, but latest versions of NIS (2009 & 2010) are pretty lightweight and don't use a lot of resources, as older versions did.

Well the NIS seems to have all the features which are needed. There are missing some things which the 360 has but these arent rly things i need (optimize startup speed, tune the system yay ! .. no thanks :p ).

So NIS is the way to go ? :)

Anyone has some more comments on this? Has anyone an idea of how much ressources i would save with NIS compared to KIS ?
Does NIS work well with SSD´s ? KIS had a bug :S

    Thanks

Yes, NIS10 works just fine on an SSD. I have KIS installed on one desktop in the house, and NIS installed on two laptops. KIS makes the desktop feel sluggish, despite claims that Kaspersky has lightened up its suite. NIS is far more lightweight, perhaps one of the most transparent options out there.

and what about the dedection rate? Not only talking about the AV but also the proactive security. There is alot of stuff which none AV would dedect but the proactive security of kaspersky did it alot of times.

I think both AV´s (KIS and NIS) have the same dedction rate.

    thanks

I used to use NIS, but then switched to 360 v1 and loved it. I used AVG when I got Windows 7 and it wasnt good at all. Bought 360 v4 from staples and am loving it. I dont like that they removed the popup and ad blocked that they had in v1 because it worked the best but 360 is still a great program. The PC tuneup and system optimization really work well.
