Atm I use 2 windows accs, one with standard user privileges and one with admin privileges.
Is there a way to switch from normal user to admin and back WITHOUT having to first login to the other user acc, where ud first have to start the programme that needs the privileges again etc. ?
I think what im looking for is something similar to Linux' way of handling stuff that needs higher privileges: If u start something that needs admin privileges a window pops up, prompting u for ur admin pw. After uve done ur admin magic, it automatically switches u back to normal user.
Also, if this sorta software exists, would there be a way to incorporate fingerprints within the login process?

Not sure, you want it to be like linux's, am I correct?
It seems like that would be hard to duplicate.

What OS are you running? If you are running Windows Vista with User Account Control turned on, you don't need to switch accounts. In most cases, launching a program that requires administrator privledges from a standard user account should display a User Account Control prompt asking you for the password of an administrator account, so that the program can run in an elevated manner.

If the program doesn't display the UAC prompt when launched, you can use the "Run as Administrator" option to launch the program with Administrator privileges. Just right click on the program's icon and choose "Run as Administrator"

If your using XP, you can try to use the "Run As..." option to launch the program as an Administrator. Hold down Shift and right click the program's icon. Choose "Run As" In the box that appears, choose "the following user" option, type or select the user name, type the password, and then click OK.

If the instructions for XP don't work, make sure that the "Secondary Logon" service is enabled:

    1. Log on to the computer as a user with administrative permissions.
    2. Right-click the My Computer icon, and then click Manage.
    3. In Computer Management, expand the Services and Applications section, and then click Services.
    4. In the details pane, right-click the Secondary Logon service, and then click Properties.
    5. In the Properties dialog box, set Startup type to Automatic, and then click Start.
    6. After the computer starts the service, click OK to close the Properties dialog box, and then close Computer Management.

Thanks a lot that was pretty much what i was looking for.
Is there a way to incorporate a fingerprint reader into the UAC pw prompt? Just like when u first logon.
Can i, as admin, grant a programme full adm privileges and let it have them every time it starts without having to enter my password? The programme im having problems with is RMCLock. It autostarts, so i always have to enter my password, which is kinda annoying.
