Anyone give this a try? I've been using 2010 and wondering how this stacks up performance wise.

Norton gives its users a free upgrade to the latest version as long as you're within the license period - just download the update and check it out for yourself ;)

NIS 2011 is way much better than any other previous versions - a sign of constant improvement.. I have been using NIS 2009, NIS 2010 and recently upgraded to NIS 2011 couple of weeks back.. It's been great, very user friendly, high level of security and protection, light on the system and almost quietly doing it' job in the background.. It's been great..

Hey fonduekid. I see you have upgraded to NIS 2011. Just wondering, did you have to run the Norton Removal Tool, or did you simply install the package over your previous version? Because I remember simply installing my NIS 2010 last year over my NIS 2009, but it resulted to making my system lag a lot and slowing down my boot up time. I rolled back to NIS 2009 for a few weeks then decided to talk to Symantec service reps. They told me to run Norton Removal Tool around 5-7 times, then install NIS 2010 on my AV-free system. To my surprise, this worked and haven't had issues with slow start up time and lag since.

I'm wondering if NIS 2011 follows the same pattern of installation...

    Hi,

This is Mike from the Norton Support Team.

If you have NIS 2010 installed, the installer for NIS 2011 will recognize that installation remove it and then install NIS 2011. it should be seemless and the installer should not take more than 1-3 minutes to install.

    Thanks,
    Mike
