Yet I continue to be more and more pleased with teh m!ghteh NOD32......

Yesterday when I started my computer, my NOD icon turned orange and a pop up said something referring to the fact that my computer needed 21 Microsoft updates, and I should click the message. It seems that when I updated to IE8, the automatic updates at Microsoft couldn't access my IE8 because it was configured to access IE7. I went to the Microsoft update site, and it told me to download a file which fixed the incompatability, and I proceeded to install all the updates I needed. Way cool ESET.

Mine turned orange too, but I thought it's just the same stupid problem that's been going on since I installed SP2, and I didn't bother to read the balloon or check the NOD32 window and carried on doing whatever I was doing. I read this thread, checked NOD32, and it was infact about the updates! I've installed 16 new updates just nao.

    Brainwashed?
    Lol ... hardly.
I use Nod32 Smart Security because it's effective in protecting the computer, plus it has always been light on system resources (I just hope that they don't bloat it up).
I also keep spybot on the side (just in case, and for regular maintenance).

Funny, I read this thread and thought 'What the heck are you talking about' until I noticed my Icon also turned orange, same notification

It's nice, and I kinda like it.

But to be honest, NOD32 also has many issues. We have one notebook which has serious issues with NOD32, don't know, but after each restart NOD32 stresses the CPU for several minutes first, but the PC is not infected, according to NOD32. It also did not recognize every Virus/Trojan I had, and I have the feeling that the newer versions slow down the computer more than the older did.

So NOD32 is a great AV, but also has flaws. At the moment I don't have a comparison with other AV scanners, but as long as a other people don't say that NOD32 is slower than others I don't plan to change my AV software.
