As the title says, i need an AV and Anti-Spyware that i can install and run from a thumb drive on another computer that is running xp 32-bit. A portable executable if you guys prefer, well two given that i need AV and spyware removal.

I need this because some genius at university managed to get a virus on the computers we use with testing equipment . Those machines are running XP 32-bit and are completely cut off from the Internet. Installing software on them would also be a nightmare, would have to go through the department to get the programs installed etc. and god knows how long that would take so if possible i'd like to just plug in the thumb drive, scan and remove whatever malware is on the computers. It won't prevent someone from infecting it afterwards, but at least i won't have to quarantine my experimental data when i want to interpret it on my laptop for a while.

If any of you know good free software that i can use that way feel free to chime in.

I'm pretty comfortable with the security software options available to install on my machines, but unfortunately, i'm kinda in the dark when it comes to computers i don't have administrator access to so i can't directly install software on them.

Try the Emsisoft Emergency Kit/EEK link
EEK is a dedicated portable AV/AM scanner and free.
    Also check Vipre Rescue link

Thanks, i'll try EEK tomorrow and if that doesn't work i'll go with the others. The computers are infected with old junk so it shouldn't be too hard to remove, most Ph D students are so clueless when it comes to computer security in my department. Sigh! Our previous department tech was fed up with the grad students asking for virus removal on their personal machines, he was a saint to do it though.
