Hey everyone, the situations quite simple really, i haven't a clue what buffer overflow is, and what to do when it pops up?

A few days ago i decided to reformat and install vista64bit again, all went well, installed all the drivers, everythings running sound.

However i had a few BSOD's when trying to bridge together wifi and ethernet (fair doos) so i reverted back to the older ethernet drivers and wallah, im all set.

Shortly after i had Comodo Firewall (the main defence i use) pop up showing buffer overflows on the explorer process?

If anyone could enlighten me and help me out, i'd really appreciate it. :)

I'm no expert but I'll try and answer.
Example of a buffer overflow. A program sets aside a certain amount of memory (a buffer if you will) for input from another program. A malware program is designed to (1) fill the memory buffer up (2) input some kind of code. Now when the first program runs it leaves a certain amount of memory for input, but when it goes to continue reading its own code, that code has how been overwritten with malware code. The malware code is instructions that make your computer do something you don't want it too.

Buffer Overflow explained in greater detail.

But knowing what a buffer overflow is won't help you solve your problem. Make sure that Commodo is updated to the latest version or latest free version if that's what your using. Also make sure it is vista64bit compatible. I'm not sure if it is or not.

Other than that I have no idea.
    good luck.
