    hello

The winlogon.exe file in system32 directory is infected, n it is detected by Super antispyware n is quarantined by SAS.

    Trojan.downloader-winlogon/FAS
    c:\windows\system32:winlogon.exe

now my system takes long time to boot while booting the black screen stays up for long time.
is it possible to replace the winlogon.exe with the same version, so that i can safely delete the infected file? (the infection cant be removed)

im attaching the file version of winlogon.exe, if someone have that version, pl do send me that file so that i can replace the infected one.
i did search the OS disc for that particular file, but i couldn't find the winlogon.exe file in the disc.

Have you tried "sfc.exe /scannow" and then a system repair?

    cheers ...

hi thx for ur reply, i did scanned the system using sfc, it showed there's an prob.
it says unable to fix, here am attaching the screen shot of the scan result, coz the log file is too big over 13mb. how to proceed further, does repairing my system leads to the data loss or any recently stored settings will be lost?
coz i not want to lose the files

    thx
