Guys, I bought NIS 2010 and installed it in my home laptop.
I'm thinking of installing the same NIS to my 2nd laptop in the office.
Since I use different internet provider in my office & home, will there be any problem with Symantec identifying the 2 different IP as an attempt to hijack the software ?
    Thanks.

not sure what you are asking. did you buy a 1 pc lic or a 3pc lic. if you bought a 3 pc one you are fine. if you bought a 1pc one than no you can not install it on 2 systems, they will blacklist your lic

ic. I forgot to mention that I intend to buy 3 Home licenses.
But I wonder whether this term "Home license" means the three computers must be in the same location, sharing the same internet connection, hence the same IP address. Or whether the 3 computers are allowed to have their own IP address using different providers, or at different location. That's what I feel unsure. I do not want to buy and install in 3 computers, and later find out that Norton blacklist my license because the 3 computers seems to have different IP address, or used from different location.

I think you worry too much. I installed 2 at 2 different locations for about a month now.

I doubt the IP addresses and stuff will matter, as long as you don't exceed the number of PCs.

they record a machine id. they do know if it is activated on more than one system with the same single lic. if you buy a 3pc lic you can use it on 3pc's simple as that

No, only the number of licenses activated is all that matters. I'm currently using all 3 of my licenses on 3 separate computers in 3 different locations. One is out of state even.

I suppose in the worst of all possible worlds, they might come around, notice that one of your licenses is being used on a "work" computer as opposed to a "home" computer and holler at you for that, but the odds of winning the gazillionaires' lottery are probably better than getting an in-person license check from Symantec.

yeah it does not matter where the three are or the one etc just that you do not exceed the number the lic is allowed for
